Parking in West Lulworth can be a bit of a headache, particularly on sunny weekends and during school holidays. If you’re visiting Lulworth Cove for the day, there is a large official car park close to the Cove, but it can get very busy.
If you’re staying in West Lulworth, having somewhere to park at your accommodation makes things considerably easier.
Parking at Lulworth Cove

The main car park for Lulworth Cove is run by the Lulworth Estate and is just a few minutes’ walk from the Cove.
There are around 1,200 spaces, including designated accessible spaces. The car park is on gravel and is unlit at night, so if you’re visiting in the evening it’s worth having a torch with you.
The current parking charges are:
- Up to 3 hours — £9
- Up to 6 hours — £17
- Up to 9 hours — £25
- 9+ hours — £32
These charges apply every day, including weekends and public holidays, and the tariff runs until midnight.

Parking for Durdle Door

If you’re heading to Durdle Door, there is a separate Lulworth Estate car park at Durdle Door.
The current charges are:
- Up to 6 hours — £15
- Up to 9 hours — £25
- 10+ hours — £35
These charges also apply throughout the year, including weekends and public holidays.
It’s worth knowing that Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door have separate car parks, so don’t assume that parking at one gives you somewhere to leave your car at the other. It is possible to walk between Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door, although the walk is somewhat challenging. It’s a beautiful stretch of the coast and, in our opinion, very much worth the effort.
Parking in West Lulworth
If you’re staying in West Lulworth, you may not need to use the main Cove car park at all.
Honeysuckle Cottage has private parking for two cars, so you can leave the car at the cottage and walk down to Lulworth Cove rather than paying to park there.
The walk from Honeysuckle Cottage to Lulworth Cove takes around 10 minutes, depending on your pace.
It’s one of the things we think makes a stay here particularly easy. You can arrive, park up and explore the village and coast on foot without having to move the car every time you want to go somewhere.
Can you park on the road in West Lulworth?
There is limited roadside parking in and around West Lulworth, but I wouldn’t rely on finding a space, particularly during busy periods.
Please don’t park in passing places, block access to properties or park where restrictions are in place. The village is small and the roads can become very busy when the Cove is crowded.
If you’re visiting for the day, the official Lulworth Cove car park is the simplest option.
Parking for a stay at Honeysuckle Cottage
If you’re staying at Honeysuckle Cottage, you have your own private parking for two cars.
That means you can leave the car at the cottage and walk to Lulworth Cove, rather than paying for a day’s parking.
It’s also handy if you’re planning to explore further afield. You can use the cottage as your base and drive out to places such as Durdle Door, Corfe Castle, Swanage and the rest of the Jurassic Coast.
A useful tip if you’re visiting Lulworth Cove
If you’re coming to Lulworth for the day, particularly during the summer, arrive early if you can. The Cove is extremely popular and parking is much easier before the main crowds arrive.
And if you’re staying locally, don’t forget that one of the nicest things about West Lulworth is that you can leave the car behind and explore on foot.
